Acai Berry: $450mil Scam
May 23rd
The Federal trade commission has filed a complaint against an online operation based out of Alberta Canada who allegedly scammed customers out of $450,000,000. It is no secret that several unscrupulous companies, powered by thousands of affiliate marketers around the world, marketed their free trial acai berry scams to customers worldwide.
This not only affected customers but it also severely affected legitimate acai berry companies by bringing a bad name to the entire industry. The complaint was filed on May 16 and it was for advertising that tried to sell acai berry weight loss pills, teeth whiteners, health supplements, and more. Customers were typically charged large monthly fees that they were unaware of and were not able to cancel them.
Using Oprah and Dr. Oz To Scam YOU!

Acai Berry Scams – #1 using Oprah to sell your fake acai!
A lot of acai berry companies were sued last year by Oprah and Dr. Oz – this was a well publicized event which was welcomed by many legitimate acai companies. The bottom line was that these scammers were using their names to make it look like they were endorsing their products, which was of course not true.
These acai berry scammers have caused a lot of distrust in our industry due to their unethical free trial acai scams. The weight loss products were some of the most exploited acai berry products on the market as the free trial affiliate marketers were making a killing because people would sign up without knowing they just enroll themselves in a monthly expense that would be very hard to cancel.
In addition to these illegal acts of disguising these recurring monthly charges, these companies were shipping acai that had little or no nutritional value due to the additives and the diluted ingredients.
If you’re just starting out, the best advice is to stay away from any company that is offering a free trial for acai berry juice. I’m not saying that all of those companies are going to scam you, but to be safe only order from a company who sells authentic acai products. Amazon Thunder is our favorite, but there are others out there too.
The facts are that Oprah never endorsed any acai supplements, they talked about acai on one of her shows, but she never endorsed any product. This is the main reason why she sued companies who used her on their site as if she was endorsing their products.
